Final Theses and Seminars


Seminar Events

All kick-off sessions for the seminar courses take usually place in February and July. The specific date and venue will be announcend in the lectures at the end of the prior semester.

  

Passwords for the related ILIAS-Courses will be announcend in the respective Kick-off Session. 

 

Please take a look in our formal requirements, those are complusory for all seminar courses and final theseses at our chair. You  find the official manual for formal requirements in ILIAS. Go to "Institut 530", open the folder "Allgemeine Institutsdokumente" and download the document "Formvorschriften für Seminar- und Abschlussarbeiten am Institut 530".

Registration for a Bachelorthesis

Bachelor theses are assigned centrally via the Exam Application Procedure (KVS=KlausurVerwaltungsSystem). The registration period is determined by the examination office. After that the assignment takes place. For further information, please refer to the information provided by the WISO faculty.

In general, registration for B.Sc. theses are made centrally via KVS (by 15.2./15.7. before the respective processing period).

Formal requirements for written seminar papers can be found under "Chair Documents" in ILIAS.

Registration for a Masterthesis

To apply to Prof. Dr. Ernst for a thesis in the context of the Master's program (Management Master), please fill out the admission protocol and send it signed by mail to the chair. The topics will be assigned after consultation. There are always topics from the
of Health Care Management are available, own suggestions are also welcome.

The application should be submitted to the chair at least two months before the desired start date.

Topics for B.Sc.-Thesises

The required amount for a Bachelorthesis is ca. 35 pages.

The range of subjects includes:

  • Selected aspects of inpatient services
  • Shortages in qualified personell
  • Management of hospitals
  • Reliability in the domain of ambulatory treatment
  • Workplace health management
  • Spread and acceptance of telemedical applications to improve the quality of care in rural areas
  • Topics from professional practise or own experiences upon individual initiative.

Topics for M.Sc.-Thesises

The required amount for a Masterthesis is ca. 60 pages.

The range of subjects includes:

  • Cost accounting in the Health Care sector (mainly inpatient services)
  • DRGs and strategic Management in hospitals
  • Operating theatre - Management
  • Internal Revision and other control systems in hospitals
  • Incentive scheme design to improve the quality and economic performance of care
  • Topics from professional practise or own experiences upon individual initiative.
